Dear Glenwood Parents and Families,

As our first official day of school is tomorrow, August 19th, we want to make sure you and your child(ren) are ready to go! As of today, Tuesday, we still had parents picking up supplies and checking out chromebooks. Thank you to all the parents that came in to grab the items that their children needed. Hopefully you were also able to connect with teachers through phone calls, messaging or email. In a year where we are starting with remote learning, it is even more important that those connections are made. Please do your best to get online with your child. If you are able to, it would be very fantastic to help your child get onto their Zoom meetings with the teachers, at least as we all get into a routine.  The below summarized schedule can be expected through the day.  Your child’s teacher may have already shared a more detailed schedule with you already. If they have not, expect them to share a detailed schedule and go over all this, during this very important first week.

Please know that we are working through this schedule just as students are, and like any other year, we hope and expect that we can work together in partnership to serve our students. Communication is the key and we encourage you to reach out to your child’s teacher about the best ways to reach you at home. There will be no class changes for the first 4 weeks of school until we can settle our enrollment. 

There will be many opportunities for students to get to know their teacher this week as well as others in the class. While we can not be together in person, we are doing all we can to make virtual learning meaningful, engaging and purposeful.

Estimados padres y familias de Glenwood,

Como nuestro primer día oficial de clases es mañana, 19 de agosto, ¡Queremos asegurarnos de que usted y sus estudiantes estén listos para comenzar! A partir de hoy, martes, todavía teníamos familias recogiendo suministros y revisando Chromebooks. Gracias a todos los padres que vinieron a recoger los artículos que sus estudiantes necesitaban. Con suerte, también pudo conectarse con los maestros a través de llamadas telefónicas, mensajes o correo electrónico. En un año en el que comenzamos con el aprendizaje remoto, es aún más importante que se establezcan esas conexiones. Haga todo lo posible para conectar a su estudiante con su maestro/a. Si puede, sería fantástico ayudar a su estudiante a participar en las reuniones de Zoom con los maestros, al menos cuando todos nos ponemos en una rutina. El siguiente horario resumido se puede esperar durante el día. Es posible que el maestro de su estudiante ya haya compartido un horario más detallado con usted. Si no es así, espere que compartan un programa detallado y repasen todo esto durante esta primera semana muy importante.
